Speed the Light (STL) is the student-initiated ministry that provides transportation and communications equipment to missionaries across the nation and in over 150 countries around the world.STL has its humble beginnings in 1944 when Ralph W. Harris (then head of the NYD), prayed for a way to give A/G youth the opportunity to help missionaries in their work.Today, STL is one of the most effective missions programs in the church world. Assemblies of God students have accepted a great responsibility to voluntarily raise funds to purchase the equipment. Since its inception, STL has raised a total of $185,258,255.02 for missionary equipment around the world.

 

Speed the Light has one guiding principle: All assistance must go to purchase equipment directly related to evangelism (“evangelism” is defined as propagating the gospel and instructing converts). STL equipment has not been nor is presently given for promotion, solicitation, or normal administrative funds.

Ambassadors in Mission (AIM) is the short-term youth missions program of the Assemblies of God. AIM trips can either be stateside or international.AIM started in 1966 and now nearly 10,000 students participate on these trips each year. AIM is a coordinated effort between students, leaders, missionaries and host churches. Youth Alive…

  • CHALLENGES students to adopt a personal plan of action for sharing their faith and establishing a campus ministry for every middle and senior high school campus.
  • PROVIDES encouragement, resources and training for students, teachers, counselors and administrators.
  • CELEBRATES greatness found in students, teachers, counselors and administrators.
  • OPERATES as a multi-denominational, multi-church based ministry.

From its beginning, Youth Alive has been careful to operate locally as a multi-denominational effort. Students from various denominations and churches are members and leaders in local Youth Alive chapters. As a show of goodwill toward Christian fellowship and service, nym stewards the framework of product development and resource support through national and district staffing for Youth Alive.

 

Youth Alive is an active member of the Campus Alliance, and upholds its statement of faith.

The Fine Arts Festival is a valuable opportunity for students to discover and develop their ministry gifts. It is becoming one of the fastest growing ministry areas in our Fellowship with over 60,000 students participating in 2003. FIRE’s ministry focuses on promoting an intimate relationship with God through prayer. This ministry encourages all young people to organize events of prayer in their churches, communities and schools to lead a spiritual revival in our society. Not only pray for our needs but also for those around us. Praying cause God to move in our favor, listen to our petitions and his kingdom is established in our hearts. We hope that other young people every day are more are affected with the feeling of praying and cry out for others. Pray until something happens!
