How to Take Care of Silk Plants
There are some important steps you should take to make sure your artificial plants last a long time. The majority of artificial plants, regardless of the material they are made will, will fade if constantly exposed to the sun. It is not necessary to utterly avoid the sun, but do change their position from time to time. Another step you will want to take is to dust your plants on a regular basis-too much dust causes flowers and plants to lose color. It is a good idea to make sure little children cannot reach your plants or flower arrangements, as they can be easily broken. You can contact the manufacturer for information about repairs if any damage to your greenery does occur. You can correct a lot of mishaps by using a hot glue gun. Wire is a great tool when fixing more extensive problems.
For those of you that desire to have your house decorated for each season, here a couple tips. Choose a few spaces that you will decorate seasonally, and use year-round decorations for other areas in the house. This way, clean-up needs and clutter are both cut down. For example, put up a couple shelves in a prominent place and adorn them with seasonal decorations, or set up a calendar area that showcases monthly decor. Changing the clothing of a stuffed animal to reflect the seasons is a nice, safe way to decorate if you have little ones at home. To cut down on storage, consider revamping and reusing your crafts. Sometimes what may be considered as a very season-specific decoration can be adjusted to fit other seasons as well. One of the best examples is exchanging your wreath from one season to another by removing the flowers and replacing them with new flowers appropriate for that season.
Decorating with Greenery in the Home
One of the best things to remember when you’re designing for home silk plants is the size of the plant. When you add plants to larger coffee tables and to dining room and kitchen tables, choose plants that are 1-2 feet high. Because these plants are meant to be noticed, choose ones with larger, less delicate leaves. On the other hand, decorating for a corner will require more vertical movement and longer leaves to make it “pop” more for the viewer. Guidelines like these help enhance the beauty of your home. Finally, remember that there are some notable benefits to silk plants: not only do they look realistic, but they do not require a lot of extra care and their lifetime is three times greater than that of real plants.
